Overview of Belzona 5812DW
Belzona 5812 DW is a 2-part epoxy-based system applied by brush or spray for the protection of metallic and non-metallic surfaces operating under immersion conditions in contact with water and aqueous solutions, where potable water approval is required.
The product is approved under NSF/ANSI 61-2016 for Drinking Water System Components - Health Effects, making it well suited for clarifiers, tanks, internal and external pipework, valves, fittings, water boxes, manholes, cooling tower pans, and submersible pumps in contact with potable water.
When combined with Belzona 9241 aggregate, Belzona 5812DW creates a drinking water-approved concrete rebuilding system suitable for heavily damaged vertical and horizontal surfaces in potable water tanks and pipework.
Belzona 5812DW is 100% solids and cures at room temperature without hot work, with excellent adhesion to virtually any surface including cast iron, stainless steel, brass, copper, concrete, wood, fiberglass, and aluminum.
Key Benefits
Can be applied as a two coat system or, when combined with aggregate, an NSF approved concrete repair solution.
Protects equipment operating under immersion in aqueous solutions from the effects of corrosion. Suitable for contact with potable water.
Reduced health and safety risks as it is 100% solids, with no solvents required.
Spray- or brush-applied onto metallic surfaces, concrete, brick and others. Cures in low-temperature and damp conditions.
When combined with Belzona 9241DW aggregate, creates a high-build NSF approved concrete repair system.
NSF (ANSI 61) certified coating that bonds tenaciously to a wide range of surfaces including damp concrete, with up to 21.6 MPa (3,130 psi) tensile shear adhesion to mild steel.
