Our approach

Cold-applied & in-situ

Systems go on cold, on-site — no hot work, no flame, minimal downtime.

Supplied + applied

Take the materials, the trained application, or both — from one local team.

24-hour support

Emergency response across Louisiana, around the clock.

Authorized distributor

Genuine Belzona systems with full technical and warranty backing.

Data center maintenance is governed by uptime tier first and material spec second. The binding constraint isn't whether a coating performs — it's whether the chiller can be rebuilt while a parallel train carries the load, whether a chilled water leak can be sealed under flow, and whether raised-floor work can happen with the white space still energised. The Belzona stack answers those questions.

What drives the decision

A data center facility manager doesn't need a coating better than the OEM finish on a fresh chiller. They need a coating that lets the existing chiller stay in service while it's rebuilt — and a chilled water leak repair that holds without taking the white space environmental control offline.

Choosing the system

Belzona 1111, 1121, and 1311 rebuild chiller tube sheets, water boxes, end covers, and flange faces in situ; 1321 (Ceramic S-Metal) provides the erosion-resistant topcoat to 60°C/140°F. Belzona 5811 (Immersion Grade) coats CRAC internals, chilled water coils, and condenser lines. Belzona 5231 (SG Laminate) is the low-odor floor coating for raised floor and white space areas. Composite wraps handle live leak repair on chilled water lines under flow.

A closer look at Data Centers Industry

Where Belzona systems get specified — open any area to dig in.

01Chiller water boxes, tube sheets, and end covers

The chiller-side asset stack in a data center is identical to commercial HVAC — galvanic corrosion at the carbon-steel-to-copper-tube interface, water-side erosion-corrosion in the water box, and tube-to-tubesheet seal degradation on aged bundles. The repair sequence is also identical: rebuild metal loss with Belzona 1111 (Super Metal) or 1121 (Super XL-Metal), top-coat with Belzona 1321 (Ceramic S-Metal) for the erosion-resistant face. The difference is scheduling — in a tiered data center, the chiller can come offline during a planned maintenance window because the redundant train carries the load. The same in-situ repair that takes one outage window in commercial HVAC fits the same window in a data center.

02CRAC and CRAH units — internal coatings and condensate management

Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) and Air Handling (CRAH) units corrode internally from condensation cycling on chilled coils and casing surfaces. The failure pattern is the same as commercial AHU corrosion — coil headers, casing seams, condensate pan welds — and the repair stack is the same: Belzona 5811 (Immersion Grade) on the internal casing and condensate pan, the 1000-series rebuild composites on coil headers, and Belzona 5831 (ST-Barrier) where the substrate is damp during the maintenance window.

03Chilled water lines, condenser water lines, and live leak repair

Chilled water and condenser water piping leaks are routinely the highest-stakes failure in a data center because the loop has to stay pressurised to keep the cooling load. Belzona composite wrap systems are bonded to the leak source under flow; the repair holds long enough to schedule the proper isolation without forcing a transfer to backup cooling under emergency conditions. Internal pipe corrosion uses the same 5811 immersion-grade coating used elsewhere in the cooling water system.

04Raised floors, plenum, and white space environmental control

Raised floor pedestal and slab repair uses the 4000-series fast-cure mortars where structural concrete is degraded; surface coatings on the white space floor and in the plenum use Belzona 5231 (SG Laminate) — the same low-odor epoxy used in food-zone production floors, selected here because installation has to happen with the white space environmental control online. Slip-resistant surfacing on access ramps and equipment platforms uses Belzona 4411 (Granogrip).

05Cooling tower internals and condenser water systems

Outdoor cooling tower assets in a data center facility face the same wet-service corrosion duty as any other power generation cooling tower — basin internals, distribution piping, fan blades. Belzona 5811 (Immersion Grade) coats the basin and distribution piping; fan blade leading-edge profile is rebuilt with the 1000-series composites and finished with Belzona 1341 (Supermetalglide). The deeper power-generation cooling tower context is on the Power and Hydropower Industry page.

06Standards and operational gates to verify per product

Data center coating specification does not pass through a hard regulatory approval framework. The relevant standards are ASHRAE TC 9.9 environmental-control recommendations, Uptime Institute Tier maintenance requirements, and OEM warranty terms — all of which are operational, not certification gates. Cold-cure repair generally preserves the OEM warranty envelope where welding would void it. Confirm the contact mode and operating temperature against the specific Belzona product number before specification.
