Our approach

Cold-applied & in-situ

Systems go on cold, on-site — no hot work, no flame, minimal downtime.

Supplied + applied

Take the materials, the trained application, or both — from one local team.

24-hour support

Emergency response across Louisiana, around the clock.

Authorized distributor

Genuine Belzona systems with full technical and warranty backing.

Hydrogen production — by electrolysis, natural-gas reforming, or gasification — puts equipment in contact with aqueous solutions, hydrocarbons, and process chemicals, and much of it has to be maintained without hot work. Belzona's erosion- and corrosion-resistant coatings and ISO 24817 / ASME PCC-2 composite wrap systems protect electrolysers, storage tanks, and piping across the upstream, midstream, and downstream of the hydrogen industry.

What drives the decision

Hydrogen assets have to tolerate a wide range of process media while staying compatible with sensitive equipment, and piping often has to be repaired online. Belzona selects coatings that sit well within the operating temperature range and have little to no interaction with the parts they protect.

Choosing the system

Belzona 1391T is uniquely placed for PEM (Polymer Electrolyte Membrane) and alkaline electrolyser processes — it falls within the relevant temperature range and has little to no interaction with sensitive equipment — and the same coating's track record in CO₂ amine strippers carries across to the carbon-capture vessels behind Blue Hydrogen. Belzona 5892 is suited to the storage of gases and feed materials including oxygen, hydrogen, and ultra-pure water (UPW). For piping systems, Belzona SuperWrap II delivers ISO 24817- and ASME PCC-2-compliant repairs that can be applied online.

A closer look at Hydrogen Industry

01Electrolysers: PEM and alkaline

Electrolysis is one of the primary routes to hydrogen, and its equipment has to be protected without disturbing sensitive components. Belzona 1391T is uniquely placed to target PEM (Polymer Electrolyte Membrane) and alkaline electrolyser processes: the duty falls well within the temperature range of the coating, and it has little to no interaction with sensitive parts of the equipment.

02Storage tanks and gas / feed handling

Belzona 5892 is formulated for the storage of gases and feed materials including oxygen, hydrogen, and ultra-pure water (UPW). Belzona's erosion- and corrosion-resistant coatings offer resistance to a wide range of aqueous solutions, hydrocarbons, and process chemicals across critical equipment such as storage tanks and piping systems.

03Feedstock lines for reforming and gasification

Hydrogen produced by natural-gas reforming and gasification depends on feedstock material lines and materials-handling equipment — chutes, hoppers, and screw conveyors. Belzona's extensive experience protecting this equipment in other industries carries directly across to the feedstock side of hydrogen production.

04Carbon capture and Blue Hydrogen

Belzona's long history of using chemically resistant coatings, including Belzona 1391T, in CO₂ amine strippers extends to the vessels used in carbon capture — which is what makes Blue Hydrogen production an application for the same coating systems.

05Online piping repair

Belzona SuperWrap II is an ISO 24817- and ASME PCC-2-compliant composite wrap system that allows the designed repair of piping systems and assets while they remain online, avoiding the cut-and-weld hot work that a shutdown would otherwise require.
