Overview of Belzona 4124
Belzona 4124 (Bulkfill) is a bulk-volume aggregate designed for cost-effective filling of large concrete and stonework repairs. Used in conjunction with Belzona 4154 (Bulkfill Resin), the system is screeded into the prepared substrate to within ¼ inch (6 mm) of the desired final surface, then overcoated with Belzona 4111 or 4131 to provide the long-term wear and chemical-resistant surface.
This three-product system is designed to maximize material efficiency: Belzona 4124 fills the bulk of the volume economically, while the higher-performance Belzona 4111 or 4131 layers provide the abrasion-, impact-, and chemical-resistant working surface. Belzona 4911 (Magma TX Conditioner) is used as a primer on damp substrates and where the application will be subjected to severe loads.
Key Benefits
No solvents, no shrinkage during cure
100% solids formulation reduces health and safety risks in confined spaces with no shrinkage on cure

Technical Data
System Components
- Aggregate (Belzona 4124)
- Pre-blended powder filler used in conjunction with Belzona 4154 (Bulkfill Resin)
- Resin (sold separately)
- Belzona 4154 — a two-component epoxy resin Base and Solidifier
- Conditioner (when required)
- Belzona 4911 (Magma TX Conditioner) for damp substrates or severe-load applications
- Overcoat (required)
- Belzona 4111 (Magma-Quartz) or Belzona 4131 (Magma-Screed) at ¼ inch (6 mm) screed
Application
- Mixing
- Mechanical mixer required — mix the entire Belzona 4154 Base and Solidifier units, then slowly add Belzona 4124 Aggregate to desired consistency
- Mix Time
- 1–2 minutes for resin homogenization, 5 minutes after full aggregate addition
- Volume Capacity
- 540 in³ (8,900 cm³) per 18.13 kg (40 lb) pack of mixed Belzona 4124
- Coverage Rate
- 7.5 ft² (0.7 m²) at 0.5 in (12 mm) average thickness per 18.13 kg (40 lb) pack
- Application Procedure
- Spread to general level using normal screeding, tamp down firmly to remove entrapped air. Apply to within ¼ in (6 mm) of final desired surface, then top with ¼ in (6 mm) screed of Belzona 4111 or 4131
Working Life (with all aggregate added)

- 2 hours
- 59°F (15°C)
- 1 hour
- 68°F (20°C)
- 45 minutes
- 77°F (25°C)
- 30 minutes
- Use of small amounts of aggregate will REDUCE the usable life
Cure Times
- 50°F (10°C)

- Overcoat 5 hours / Full mechanical hardness 16 hours
Application Limits
- Application Temperature Range
- 50°F (10°C) to 77°F (25°C). Below 50°F, material may be too stiff for easy mixing and application. Above 77°F, material may be too fluid with reduced working life.
- Substrate Moisture
- Allow new concrete to cure 28 days minimum, or until moisture content is below 6% (Protimeter). Damp substrates must be primed with Belzona 4911.
Overcoating
- Overcoat with Belzona 4111 or Belzona 4131 within 24 hours, using Belzona 4911 between layers
- If left longer than 24 hours, the surface must be abraded prior to application of overcoat

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Belzona 4124 (Bulkfill) used for?
Belzona 4124 (Bulkfill) is an epoxy-based repair material designed as a deep-section bulkfill for the repair and resurfacing of concrete substrates. It is mixed with locally sourced aggregate to provide a versatile, cost-effective filling system, and is overcoated with another Belzona 4000 Series repair material or protective coating for the finished surface.
What is the mixing ratio of Belzona 4124 (Bulkfill)?
Belzona 4124 (Bulkfill) is mixed with locally sourced sand, quartz, or crushed stone aggregate at the ratios specified in the Instructions for Use. Please see the Product Specification Sheet (PSS) for the resin Base : Solidifier ratio and aggregate proportions.
How do you apply Belzona 4124 (Bulkfill)?
To apply Belzona 4124 (Bulkfill), the surface must be clean, firm, and dry, free of any contamination, and conditioned with Belzona 4911 (Magma TX Conditioner). Mix the Base and Solidifier units thoroughly, add the prescribed aggregate while mixing, and apply the mortar to the conditioned area using a trowel or float. Tap down firmly to compact and remove entrapped air. Once cured, overcoat with the appropriate Belzona 4000 Series repair material or protective coating. Please see the Instructions for Use (IFU) for more information.
