Frequently Asked Questions

What is Belzona 1813 (High Temperature Ceramic) used for?

Belzona 1813 (High Temperature Ceramic) is a 2-part ceramic-filled epoxy system for protecting metal substrates from abrasive attack at elevated temperatures. It supports wet/slurry service up to 374°F (190°C) and dry service up to 410°F (210°C).

How does Belzona 1813 compare to other ceramic carbide products?

Belzona 1813 supports significantly higher service temperatures than Belzona 1811 or 1812 — up to 374°F (190°C) wet/slurry and 410°F (210°C) dry — making it the preferred choice for high temperature abrasion service. Its compressive strength reaches 22,049 psi after post-cure.

How thick can Belzona 1813 be applied?

Belzona 1813 can be applied up to 0.25 inch (6 mm) thick in a single application, with nil slump at 6 mm. Multiple coats can be applied within the overcoat window for thicker applications when required.
