Overview
Dissimilar tube metals like Admiralty brass and cupronickel set up galvanic corrosion at the carbon-steel tube sheet, preferentially attacking the steel around each tube end and opening leak paths that thin the gasket faces. Cold-applied Belzona ceramic-filled epoxies rebuild and electrically isolate the joint: Belzona 1311 (Ceramic R-Metal) for the rebuild, Belzona 1321 (Ceramic S-Metal) for cooling-side immersion to 140°F (60°C), or Belzona 1391T for hot service to 248°F (120°C). Repairs install inside the existing turnaround window with no hot work, returning the bundle to service in days rather than the weeks weld build-up and machining take.

About Heat Exchangers Tube Sheets
Tube sheet repair is constrained by three things at once: the dimensional tolerance at the tube-to-tube-sheet interface, the dielectric requirement to break the galvanic cell with the bundle, and the inspection interval that defines when the next outage is available. Belzona's tube sheet system is built around those three constraints.
